I was born and raised in Sioux Center, Iowa. While growing-up, I was actively involved in our family’s show cattle operation, as well as 4-H and FFA.  This path in agriculture led me to Iowa State University, where I received my bachelor’s degree in Public Service and Administration in Agriculture. While at Iowa State, I also served as the Student Body Vice President. My involvement in the college of Agriculture, as well as lessons learned through Government of the Student Body, prepared me well for the future.

I then moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where I pursued a master’s degree in agricultural communications from Oklahoma State University. Throughout this time, I remained active in the cattle industry, which led to a job at the American Hereford Association. I served as the Marketing & National Shows coordinator, where I was introduced not only to a great breed association, but even better people.

Eventually, all roads lead to home, and I accepted a job offer with Trans Ova Genetics in Sioux Center, IA. This job has allowed me the flexibility to work from home, which is now Liberty Center, IN.

Today, I remained heavily involved in multiple facets of the ag industry. In addition to my role at Trans Ova Genetics, where I serve as the director of marketing, I am also still involved in the family’s cow-calf operation. My husband and I help with the production sale, and have our own sale as well. When I married my husband, Patrick, I became more well-rounded as also became involved in his businesses, which include grain farming, raising feeder hogs, and selling seed.  We continue to be active in the show ring, and travel to many of the national shows throughout the year. Boy, the game looks different when it’s your children in the ring!
